SAGindie mourns the passing of Tom Bower, actor, producer, union leader, and a driving force behind the mission to bridge the gap between independent film and professional acting talent.
As an actor, Bower memorably appeared as Dr. Curtis Willard on TV’s The Waltons, and also in such hit films as Beverly Hills Cop II, Die Hard 2, Nixon, Pollock, and Crazy Heart, among countless other roles. He served on the SAG National Board from 1995 to 2002, and was responsible for co-creating the union resource that eventually became SAGindie.
We send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Bower, and we remember the talent he brought to the screen and the hard work he did on behalf of the indie filmmaking community.
