the farewell

It’s July, which means it’s time to continue the SAGindie tradition of picking out the new slate of movies from this month that entice our staff. Check out what films the SAGindie lifers will be celebrating this month.

The Farewell – Just sounds great.

Spider-Man: Far From Home – Summer Marvel Movie. Plus, Zendaya.

Midsommar – a/k/a Gipson Family Reunion.

Supervized – An old folks home for Super Heroes? Sounds great.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood – OK, OK, Quentin. I’ll give you 327 hours to watch your movie. But this is the last time!

Of course I’m excited when a new Tarantino film comes to town, so Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood shoots right to the top of the list. Duh.

Horror movies are the best in theaters, so Midsommar and Crawl are must-sees for me.

I missed out on The Farewell, The Art of Self-Defense, and Sword of Trust at various film festivals, but I’ve heard good things about all of them. I did see Share at a festival (Sundance, to be precise) and I strongly recommend.

And I’m not quite sure what Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein is all about, but I am intrigued.

Shorter list this month! Maybe I can finally catch up on all the ones I meant to see last month.

The Art of Self-Defense

The Lion King
Honeyland
